Christopher J. Cannell
Developed a love for the water at a young age growing up on the Magothy River in Annapolis, Maryland.
Christopher J. Cannell's passion for the water began early, growing up along the Magothy River in Annapolis, Maryland. His fascination with electronics and computers soon followed, making the world of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) a natural convergence of his interests. Chris first explored this field during his graduate studies at Virginia Tech, where he played a pivotal role in designing, building, and testing innovative small UUVs and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs).
Throughout his career, Chris has led multidisciplinary teams of engineers and developers, contributing to the design and development of UUVs and USVs across a wide range of sizes and capabilities. His work with industry leaders and government agencies has consistently pushed the boundaries of unmanned systems in marine environments. In 2018, Chris founded Magothy River Technologies with a dedicated team of experienced engineers, united by a shared history of excellence. Together, they tackle complex challenges and deliver cutting-edge solutions to advance the unmanned marine industry.
